If, when you click on your link, you are seeing a message that essentially says the page cannot be found, check:
  1. Did you forget the opening quote on the url?  The structure of your link should look like:

      <a href="pathtofile">Text To Click</a>
  2. If the link is to a site outside of your account, make sure you include the entire url beginning with the protocol (http:// ...)
  3. If the link is to a webpage within your account, check the relative url to the webpage. Is it correct?   See the Relative URL Practice Quiz on Canvas.
  4. Check the folder name(s) and file name in the relative url; do these names match the actual folder name(s) and file name? Check carefully! Some of these names can look correct when, in fact, they are not. For example, check out these file names.
  5. Is the webpage containing the link and the webpage you are viewing, the same webpage? Check the tips here:
