Job Description

 

ADR Adhesives and Sealants manufactures and markets specialty chemicals used in thousands of formulations and hundreds of thousands of applications worldwide.  The company has direct operations in over 25 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia/ Pacific.  We are recruiting an EHS intern for our new flagship site in Racerville, KY.  The selected candidate will support the senior EHS Engineer.

Hours
Approx. 40 Hours per week

Salary
Salary commensurable with experience

Education and  Experience Requirements
-Minimum of 2 years college credits in engineering or science.  Safety/IH background highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft office programs (Explorer, Excel, Word) PowerPoint a +
- Familiarity with Industrial Hygiene sampling methodology

Job Details
-Assist with the development of workplace risk assessments; identifying conditions or actions that may cause injury, illness or property damage; including ergonomics assessments
- Assist with annual EHS report
-Champion EHS programs
-Inspections/Audits: assessing safety and health risks associated with equipment, materials, processes, facilities or abilities.
- Participation in site safety committee.
- Participation in and coordination of special projects as assigned.
- Ensure that mandatory safety and health standards are satisfied.
- Ergonomics: improving the workplace based on an understanding of human physiological and psychological characteristics, abilities and limitations.
- Environmental Protection; controlling hazards that can lead to undesirable releases of harmful material into the air, water or soil.
- Training: providing employees and managers with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize hazards and perform their jobs safely and effectively.
- Accident and Incident Investigations: determining the facts related to an accident or incident based on witness interviews, site inspections and collection of other evidence.
- Assist site EHS Engineer with coordination of Emergency Response: organizing, training, and coordinating skilled employees with regard to emergencies such as fire, accidents or other disasters.
- Wear provided safety equipment
