Advanced Non-Destructive Evaluations Laboratory

        The mission of our Research Laboratory is to develop innovative techniques of nondestructive testing in collaboration/partnership with industry and to provide an learning environment to our students that fosters intellectual growth. This program is project oriented to serve the research and development needs of industry, and therefore industry participation is welcome and strongly encouraged. Our team has expertise in testing and evaluation of structural and hot section aircraft components, as well as automotive and ship transportation and pipeline. Our research activities cover inspection, material characterization, imaging and advanced materials. The results are used to develop new techniques and optimize conventional technologies for identifying and sizing flaws, inclusions and damage precursors in metallic alloys and composite materials.
