Pictured below are the three "supporting graphs" for the so-called adjoint representation of the simple Lie algebra sl(3,C), which is the 8-dimensional Lie algebra of all 3 X 3 complex matrices with zero trace. The Maple procedures used to generate these images were developed with Murray State graduate John Eveland as part of his Senior Honors Research Project (defended April 2001).
