Welcome to the

MSU Faculty Club

The purpose of this organization is to promote closer relationships among the faculty, professional staff, and retired faculty and professional staff of Murray State University through the operation of a club providing organized programs of educational, social and recreational activities.

The MSU Faculty Club rents a house from the university, which is located at 309 North 14th Street in Murray, between Woods Hall and Racer Arena. This facility provides a homelike atmosphere for meetings and receptions and overnight lodging for guests of our university.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Fall 2003 Open House for all faculty and professional staff: Thursday October 9, from 4PM to 5:30PM. Free refreshments. Come visit with colleagues, see the Club House, and find answers to your questions about the Faculty Club.

MEMBERSHIP

There are two categories of membership--Individual and Unit.

Individual membership gives you the opportunity to personally take advantage of the facility. With that membership you can host receptions and meetings or other gatherings and you can vote on issues brought to the table by the board. The Club also hosts gatherings for its members throughout the year to celebrate holidays and university events. Individual membership also gives you the opportunity to join the Socially Progressive Workgroup, which sponsors wine tastings and social gatherings throughout the year.

The other membership category is the "Unit." Any division of the university can join as a Unit. Colleges, departments, and other university divisions can gain access to the Club house for meetings and receptions as well as lodging for out of town guests of the member unit. This category of membership does not convey an individual membership to the director or any one else in the division, or benefits to subordinate units.
