On Monday, we'll finish discuss homework for sections 11.4 and 11.5. Write-ups for those sections will be due Wednesday.
Because some of my fall break travel plans had to change, I am unable to be back at school until Monday afternoon, so office hours on Monday are canceled. Class on Monday will take place, as outlined above.

Exam 1 turned out decently. You can find its solutions and grade statistics on the "scores and docs" page.
On Monday, we'll finish homework discussion of section 11.3 and then start lectures over the next section. Write-ups for sections 11.1 and 11.3 will be due Tuesday.

After exam 1, you can relax a little. Enjoy the mild weather! Gaze at the clouds! Compute their trajectory! Oh, wait...
If you haven't turned in some of 10.7-10.9 homework, I will still take it on Monday.
On Monday, we continue lectures over section 11.1.
Home, 9/18
Exam 1, covering sections 10.1-10.9, is scheduled for Friday. Check out sample exam 1 on the "scores and docs" page. For more practice, find more exams on the MOTHERLODE.
On Monday, we will wrap up section 10.8 and start with section 10.9, with start of homework discussion for both of those sections anticipated for Tuesday. We'll likely be turning in sections 10.7 and 10.8 on Wednesday and you can pick up the graded homework from my office on Thursday.

We are almost done with lectures over section 10.6 and will finish them on Monday. Afterwards, we will start homework discussion over this section. The anticipated due date for homework in sections 10.5 and 10.6 is Wednesday.

After we finish lectures over section 10.5 on Tuesday, we will start discussion of homework over it. Homework for sections 10.3 and 10.4 was due today, but you can bring it on Tuesday if you did not turn it in.
Exam 0 - a review of material from Calculuses 1 and 2 that we will need in this course was handed out today and is due on Wednesday (it is categorized as homework.)

We finished homework discussion of section 10.3 and started lectures on section 10.4. These will continue on Monday, after which we discuss homework over this section. Due date for sections 10.3 and 10.4 will be no earlier than Wednesday.

Having completed lectures on sections 10.1 and 10.2, we have started homework discussion on section 10.1, which will continue on Monday, with 10.2 to follow. Write-up of the homework for sections 10.1 and 10.2 will be due once discussion is done, no earlier than Tuesday.
Let me reiterate that you can always find board images on Canvas/Files in files named after the sections they cover.

Welcome to the course! (And hello again to the people who had me for Calculus 1 or 2!) Look around to familiarize yourself with the layout of these webpages. To get to other pages, click on the links in the menu (or drop-down, if viewing on a smartphone). The most often-used pages are in the first line of the menu (or the first several choices of the drop-down). "Scores and docs," for example, has all the documents for the course.
Your first exercise is to find the syllabus on these pages and read it. The most important items there are in larger font.
These pages will get more content as information becomes available. Check back often: useful information is provided in the "home" section (which you are reading), typically updated weekly. For now, here is some information on Canvas and lecture notes.
Canvas: Canvas will only be the repository of class notes and your grades. Information about the course and weekly messages will be posted to this website (also accessible from Canvas). (Why bother with the website outside of Canvas? Two reasons: it's easier to make updates to it, and it stays public. I value this, and you may grow to as well, as a service to future students of this course.)
Lecture notes: I will distribute the printed notes in class. Have these with you so that you can follow the lectures in class without having to copy a lot. The filled-in notes written in class are posted on Canvas.
