| Home, 5/5 Exam 3 turned out pretty well, and the final grades are good. If anyone would like to take the final exam, the best way to start studying for it is to make sure you can do the problems on the exams we've had so far. The final exam will include a selection of problems very much like the ones on our three exams. Since I know which problems were the most popular in the past exams, and I want you to improve on those, only a few of the popular ones will appear on the final, so make sure you work on the problems that you were not so comfortable with as well. All of our past exams are now posted on the "scores and docs" page. Test knowledge for the final will be combination of all test knowledge for the three exams. See below for office hours during finals week. (scroll down for previous messages) Home, 5/1 Exam 3 is scheduled during our regular final exam time, Monday at 10:30, in our usual classroom. I will have exam 3 graded that afternoon and will send your overall grade to your murraystate email by the evening. Then you will know whether to take the final exam, which will be on Friday. My office hours for next week will be: Monday: 9:30-10:30, 1:00-3:00
Tuesday: 10:00-12:00, 1:30-3:00 Wednesday: 9:30-10:30, 1:00-3:00 Thursday: 10:00-3:00 The final exam will be comprehensive, and its problems will be much like the problems on the past 3 exams. Therefore, start studying for the final by making sure you can do all the problems on the exams so far, especially the ones where you did poorly. Exam 3 will cover sections 7.1-7.3 and 7.5 and will be given during finals week. If Monday does not work for a majority of people, we can consider Tuesday or Wednesday. But not for long, as the homework assignment for chapter 7 has been posted. We will discuss problems in 7.1 on Tuesday. Home, 4/3 Homework for section 6.4 is due on Tuesday, and I plan to return it to you on Thursday. Exam 2, covering sections 6.1-6.4, is scheduled for Friday, 4/10 at 2:30, in our usual classroom. That's when we will discuss homework from 6.2, to be turned in on Thursday. Exam scores statistics have now been posted, and I have finally gotten around to getting the same on the individual homeworks.
