  1. CATALOG DESCRIPTION:
    A technical overview of the evolution of the Networking Industry from early voice communications through modern-day high-speed data & voice networks.

  2. PURPOSE:
    Build a good foundation for the student to network technologies in use today.

  3. COURSE OBJECTIVES:
    To provide the Telecommunications student with the concepts necessary to readily understand the underlying principles communication systems in use today.

  9. ATTENDANCE POLICY:
    Attendance will not be recorded each day, but students are expected to be regular in attendance. The lowest one-hour exam grade will be dropped, and normally no make-up exams will be given. Any make-up exams will be at the discretion of the instructor, and will require that advance notice be received before a test is given, stating the reasons for the absence. Supporting documentation will be required.


  10. ACADEMIC HONESTY POLICY:
    Cheating, plagiarism, submitting another person’s material as one’s own, or doing work for another person which will receive academic credit are all impermissible.  This tsmincludes the use of unauthorized books, notebooks, or other sources in order to secure or give help during an examination, the unauthorized copying of examinations, assignments, reports, or term papers, laboratory reports, drawings or the presentation of unacknowledged material as if it were the student’s own work.  Disciplinary action may result in no credit for an assignment or exam and/or failure of the course.
