Call Feature Codes
If an individual attempts to place a local call beginning with the two digits in the special feature access codes listed above without first dialing a 9, the special feature is activated. It is necessary to use new 3-character codes to access the special features of the switching facilities. The use of the new codes will prevent the accidental activation/deactivation of the features. The new codes use the current numbers preceded by an * (asterisk). The new codes are as follows:

Conference Calls
Conference calling is one of the many features supported by the MSU phone system. Conference calls may include up to 8 people including the initiator (person following these instructions). To initiate a conference call, follow the instructions below.
- Dial the first party and announce the conference call. Ask that party to hold. D-Term phone users depress the TRF key on their phone and dial 3521. Let it ring twice and hang up or depress recall. Standard phone users depress the hook-switch, dial 3521, let it ring twice, and hang up.
- Repeat step one for each party. A total of 8 parties may be included in the conference call.
- When all of the parties have been included in the conference call, dial 5005 to include yourself in the conversation and to make sure that all parties have been connected.
- To insure privacy, D-Term phone users located in the I & T building dial 0. D-Term phone users located elsewhere on-campus dial 00. Standard phone users dial 0.
If only three parties need to be on the conference call, try Three-Way Calling instead.
If you have any questions or comments please call the Telecommunications Office at 6801.
