Instructional Development Grants

Murray State offers two forms of instructional development grants. To apply for a development grant, please select the appropriate grant type listed below.

Instructional Development Minigrants

Minigrant proposals for developmental activities will be accepted from all permanent full-time faculty who wish to further refine their teaching expertise. All awards must be utilized to perform developmental activities focusing on teaching and learning. Specifically, developmental activities are those which enhance the applicant's ability to deliver instruction to students, such as integrating technology into the classroom, creating an active learning environment with students, improving information delivery mechanisms, and integrating international and global issues into the curriculum. Additionally, activities such as mentoring, laboratory work, and fieldwork can also be included. It is anticipated that awards will range between $250.00 to $1,000.00. Collaborative proposals are encouraged.

Teaching Innovation Faculty Fellowship (TIFF)

TIFF is a competitive grant program developed to help faculty develop a new course (including laboratory) or substantially revise or redesign an existing course. The TIFF program will allow faculty members to promote and foster student learning through improving instructional methods and practices and providing an opportunity to develop innovative techniques in teaching. Funds can be used to pay a summer stipend for faculty, purchase technology or teaching materials and travel to professional conferences related to teaching and learning. Any questions should be directed to Hal Rice (3929, hal.rice@murraystate.edu)
