The total amount of the award is $4,000. Please indicate below how the money should be divided between the three categories. The applicant should note that the summer stipend funds must be paid between May 16, 2009 and June 30, 2009 and that university rules concerning summer extra compensation will apply and benefits will be taken out of the money budgeted for the summer stipend. The maximum amount allowed for travel is $1,000.

Provide the title of the project and a brief synopsis of the project, expected outcomes and proposed assessment.

Abstract (maximum of 150 words):
Provide a broad overview of proposed activities and discuss specific objectives. A clear description should be given on what problems or shortcomings currently exist in a particular course/curriculum and how a new course or a redesign of an existing course/curriculum can address these issues. If possible, the applicant should cite relevant examples from the literature (author, year) and provide a reference list in Part VI.
Provide a description of expected outcomes from this project and any assessment tools that will be used to measure changes in the course/curriculum and student learning. An indication of the importance of this project to the applicant, department, college and university, along with the number of students impacted, should also be provided. If possible, the applicant should cite relevant examples from the literature (author, year) and provide a reference list in Part VI.
Provide a reference list with citations from Parts IV and V. Please use the format below for journal citations and any accepted format for books or other scholarly publications.

A condition for this award is a final report to the Faculty Development Council and a contribution to the Annual Teaching and Technology Forum or a special forum for fellowship recipients. Provide additional information on other ways that the applicant’s work will be disseminated throughout his/her department, college and the university. Also, describe other possible means of dissemination to the applicant’s colleagues in his/her field or through journal articles and national or international presentations.
