Posters-at-the-Capitol 2004 Posters-at-the-Capitol 2004,
an event hosted collaboratively by Eastern Kentucky University, Kentucky
State University, Morehead State University, Murray State University,
Northern Kentucky University, University of Kentucky, University of
Louisville, and Western Kentucky University, is intended to help members of
Kentucky’s legislature and the Governor better understand the
importance of involving undergraduates in research, scholarly, and creative
work. Undergraduates whose abstracts
are selected for participation in Posters-at-the-Capitol 2004 will
display their work (the presentation format is a 4 foot by 4 foot poster) in
the state capitol and are encouraged, along with their faculty mentors, to
arrange visits with legislators from their hometown and university districts. Poster-at-the-Capitol 2004
will take place on January 22, 2004. A committee, representing the eight universities, will review the abstracts after the abstract submission deadline. All students will be notified by the third week in November of the committee’s selection decisions. Additional information on the event and on creating your poster will be provided at that time. Providing undergraduates with the opportunity to engage in scholarly, research, and creative work is important to our students’ educational experience and professional development. We encourage faculty to have their students participate in Posters-at-the-Capitol to help those in Kentucky who fund higher education understand why these experiences are so important. If you are an undergraduate, we urge you to tell your story to your hometown and university legislators so that other Kentucky students can enjoy and benefit from the kind of experience you have had. If you have any questions regarding Posters-at-the-Capitol 2004, please do not hesitate to contact your university’s Posters-at-the-Capitol Organizing Committee member listed above. We would be pleased to talk with you. Sincerely, Posters-at-the-Capitol Organizing Committee |
Posters may not exceed 4 ft by 4 ft in size. An
