Listed below are the different types of On-campus Student Employment Programs
* FEDERAL WORK-STUDY PROGRAM: Students must complete the Application for Federal Student Aid and the Murray State Financial Aid application for each academic year. Federal Work-Study Program eligibility is a part of a student's financial aid package. The number of hours per week a student may work is determined by the student's need. Employment is not guaranteed. You must see the Financial Aid Office to apply and determine eligibility. All questions may be directed to the Financial Aid Office by telephone at 1-800-272-4MSU (ext. 3) or (270) 809-2546 or by e-mail at sfa.office@murraystate.edu
* UNIVERSITY STUDENT EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (USEP): Any student enrolled at least half time may work on the University Student Employment Program. Each department/office employing students on the USEP determines the number of students who will be employed and the number of hours worked per week (usually 12-15).
* SUMMER EMPLOYMENT (University Student Employment Program ONLY): Students need not be enrolled in summer school to work during the summer, but must be returning to school at least half time in the fall. Entering students may work on the University Student Employment Program during the summer if they have been accepted for admission to Murray State University.

One (1) University Student Worker Position - Description: Support faculty, staff, and students by assisting with myGate questions – over the phone and face-to-face. May also assist with developing web pages, offering training on software products (such as Microsoft and Adobe programs), creating media (including scanned files and CD/DVD duplications), and providing office assistance. Skills needed: Must speak English proficiently and demonstrate excellent telephone etiquette. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferably proficient in Microsoft Access, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Dreamweaver and/or Contribute. Experience with multimedia software and CSS is a plus. University Mentor Positions for all majors. Applicants will most likely begin Fall 2012, but positions may become available this semester. Interviews will be held this semester. Project Mentor provides mentoring services to students with learning disabilities. This is a one on one tutoring position over class content as well as helping with time and task management. Mentors work with their students and arrange their own work schedules, so it is a very flexible position. Typically mentors work a maximum of 8 hours per week. Skills needed: Junior status with a 3.0 GPA or higher; previous experience as a tutor is preferred but not required; be detail oriented, organized, caring, outgoing and should possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
