Internships / Cooperative (Co-Op) Education
The Internship/Cooperative Education program at Murray State gives students the opportunity to gain valued experience in their chosen field of study by actually working for an employer for a given period of time. This exposure to the work force gives students an insight into their career choice which can only be gained outside the classroom.
Participation in these programs is strongly encouraged by academic departments and the University. These experiences allow students to develop a better understanding of the material presented in their classes and its application in the work place. These experiences also help to build students' resumes and aid in the gaining of permanent employment upon graduation.
Career Services acts as a liaison between the hiring organizations, academic departments, University and students. Through available resources, students are able to identify potential Co-op or Internship opportunities.
