How Do I Get Started?

When would I do the URSA project?

To meet the needs of our students and to encourage additional student participation in the URSA grant program, applications for the URSA grant program may be submitted at any time. In general, the applicant will be notified regarding project funding within 2 weeks from the date the application is submitted.

Who do I contact?

If you need assistance getting started beyond what is offered at this web site, please stop by the URSA Faculty Coordinator's office at 6B-15 of Faculty Hall, call him at (270) 809–6584 or drop him an email at dpizzo@murraystate.edu.

The faculty at Murray State are very important in the overall process.  Talk with the faculty, in areas where your interests lie, about their research, scholarly, or creative activities and ask if they would be willing to involve you in their work or sponsor you on a separate project.  Once you have found a faculty member who is willing to let you help with their research or scholarly interests or support you in your chosen project, you will have a resource who will help you through the proposal process.  If you are having any difficulty obtaining a mentor or simply do not feel comfortable approaching a faculty mentor, we can help.  Please stop by the URSA Office and we will work with you in identifying an appropriate mentor.
