According to NCAA Bylaw 6.3.2, all Division I institutions are required to
conduct exit interviews with athletes who have exhausted their athletics eligibility.
Mr. Bill Whitaker, Faculty Athletics Representative will contact all student-athletes
required to complete this written interview. The names of those who participate
will remain as anonymous as possible. The interviews will include questions
regarding the value of the students' athletic experiences, the extent of the
athletic time demands encountering by the student-athletes, proposed changes
in intercollegiate athletics and concerns related to the administration of the
student- athletes' specific sports.
Representatives are selected by their respective head coaching. Each sport has a representative that should be present at the monthly meetings to express the needs of their teammates.
At the end of the competition season each student-athlete will complete the MSU student-welfare survey. Mr. Bill Whitaker, Faculty Athletics Representative or Margaret Simmons, Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance will administer the survey.
A student-athlete may be used in a research project. If a student-athlete is asked to be a subject in a research project the researcher needs to contact the Assistant Athletics Director Academics/Compliance, Margaret Simmons, to get approval. Margaret Simmons may be reached at 762-4424.
