Today we took a look at our photographs on the camp web site and reviewed our new robotics words. Then we started building a "Spectacular Robot" model, using any 40 LEGO pieces. Next, we worked with the computer! Using what we learned about levers, gears, and pulleys earlier, we started on activities with "Amazing Mechanisms." We picked from among three different models ("Dancing Birds," "Smart Spinner," and "Drumming Monkey") to explore lots of concepts from science and mathematics. We used the computer to program these models so that they did what we wanted. Tomorrow, we will learn about sensors and work on robotic models related to a theme of "Wild Animals."
