Day Three was the turning point of Robotics Camp 2010 at Murray State. Campers used the NXT brick and the sound sensor to review some of their previous programming skills in an activity called "Up and Back." A new challenge called "Coal Mine Collapse" focused on the ultrasonic sensor and required the design and programming of a robotic vehicle to navigate a maze and retrieve a box that represented a rescue pod containing miners who were trapped in a coal mining accident. This was a very difficult problem to solve, and called upon the campers to bring out their very best creative thinking and design ideas. All campers were excited about their achievements and are already planning for other challenging events tomorrow, including the use of touch sensors!
