Robotics 2005 Camp
  Day 4, July 21, 2005
  MSU Afternoon Group
Today, the campers were introduced to the engineering and
programming of touch and light sensors. The touch sensors allowed campers to
bump their robots into objects to trigger steps in their robot programs.
Bump-N-Go,
Bump-N-Steer and
Touch Sensor Bumper Car were the challenging events campers used
their construction and programming skills to complete today. The
Bump-N-Go design challenge gave the campers the chance to construct a
vehicle from a construction card that will strike a barrier, trigger the touch
sensor, reverse direction and stop in a box. Touch
Sensor Bumper Car required two motors and two touch sensors to make
the robot move, hit a point and move again to another point.
Teams learned a variety of skills all in preparation for the Robot Derby events
to be held on Day Five. Parents, grandparents, family, and friends, you are all welcome to join the
Derby Day events after our morning break at 2:30 so your camper can demonstrate
some of his or her projects. Bring your cameras and be ready to experience
MSU Robotics Camp 2005 at
its finest!
