Johnson Controls, Inc., in Cadiz, Kentucky, gave the TQI Robotics Camp attendees the opportunity to tour their facility and speak to engineers and programmers.  Teachers were able to discuss career opportunities as well as programming and logistics with employees.  This information can now be shared with students in the classrooms of the represented schools.  Subject areas of the teachers represented included high school mathematics, science and technology, middle school science and social studies as well as elementary science.

Teachers drew beneficial correlations between Kentucky’s Core Content, classroom and real-life experiences by touring the facility.  According to one participant, “What I observed and learned here today will be a great asset to me in my classroom.  My students will gain knowledge which can be used to prepare for opportunities in the work force after they graduate from college.”

Special thanks goes to JCI and public relations liaison, Terry Birdsong, for allowing our group to tour the facility and for giving us access to the programmers.
