Day 3 was the turning point of Advanced Robotics Camp 2003 at Hanson. This
was our second day of multi-step programming with the RCX brick. "Through
The Tunnel" was the name of the challenge that provided campers the chance
to use the fundamentals of programming. Most campers found it took a minimum of
eight steps to meet this challenge. The task required campers to turn on a light
at a specific point which entering and exiting a simulated tunnel. Campers also
had to program in some turns, so timing was important. After working at
"Through The Tunnel," campers attempted to climb "Obstacle
Hill," a challenge many found difficult to complete. Campers tried
new ideas for vehicle design by using wheels in an offset pattern to climb over
the highs, lows, and angles of "Obstacle Hill." All campers were
excited and are already planning for new challenges on Thursday.
