Day 3 is the turning point of Robotics Camp 2002 in Madisonville. Our first day of programming the RCX brick to complete challenging task. "Distance Doggy" is the name of the challenge that provides campers the chance to use the fundamentals of programming. After completing Distance Doggy, campers were required to add a step to their program which allowed their vehicle to back from one box into another. Then came a multiple step program which made use of changing the direction and speed of motors. What and until took on new meaning. "What" was the motor turning one direction or the other, and the "until" was the specific time it took for their vehicles to stop. Campers also began programming multi-step programs and designing their vehicles to make turns. All campers were excited and are already planning for other challenging events for tomorrow including the use of remote control!
