Robotics 2002 Camp
Day 2, June 11, 2002
MSU Afternoon Group

Today we used what we learned yesterday about construction and friction in our projects. After doing some activities to learn more about gears and pulleys, we put everything together with a device which spins one or more of the figures (LEGO people). Once this task was complete, the campers used their knowledge of gears and pulleys along with a motor to construct a solar powered vehicle. (Thank goodness for sunny weather!) Then we used solar panels to power a trolley car that traveled along a suspended string. Today we began to see the emerging creativity in construction of devices and vehicles along with excellent team work.
