Robotics 2001 Camp
Day 3, June 13, 2001
Madisonville

Campers came in this morning with a surprise!  Our pictures were on the top front page of the local newspaper!  WOW!

Day 3 is the turning point of Robotics Camp 2001 in Madisonville.  Our first day of programming the RCX brick to complete challenging task. "Distance Doggy"  is the name of the challenge that provides campers the chance to use the fundamentals of programming.  After completing Distance Doggy, campers were required to add a step to their program which allowed their vehicle to back from one box into another.  Then came a multiple step program which made use of changing the direction and speed of motors.  What and until took on new meaning.  "What" was the motor turning one direction or the other, and the "until" was the specific time it took for their vehicles to stop. All campers were excited and are already planning for other challenging events for tomorrow!
