The Omicron Xi Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. was chartered on
September 15, 1982 by Bro. Anthony "Kevin" Grimes who pledged at Eastern Kentucky University.
Over the next two years Bro. Grimes pledged two lines the first line consisting of two
survivors, and the second line consisting of 7 more brothers. Bro. Rolando Greene who pledged in
1985 had started 3 lines from 1986-1988, but everyone on line dropped. In an attempt to save the
chapter Bro. Rolando Greene pledged 9 men in the Spring of 1989, but only one was recognized by Nationals (Bro.
Clarence L. Bard.) This was the last line before the deactivation of the chapter in 1989.
The Omicron Xi
Chapter was re-chartered in the fall 1998 by two influential young
men.
These two men sought to bring back the organization after it's deactivation in the late 80's.
Bro. Kevin Raglin and Bro. Les Gray were the first to be inducted into this re-chartered
chapter. In the spring of 1999, these two re-chartering founders initiated 4
dynamic brothers by the names of Bro. Louis DeFreeze, Bro. Scott Fishback, Bro. Robert
Milan, and Bro. Antoine Crowe. Together they allowed the Omicron Xi chapter to expand
it's roster of talent and professionalism. Since then, the Omicron XI chapter has jolted the
Murray State campus with their energy and programmatic success. AND THE STORY
