The question of the day was: “Share a Field Day Memory"

Program – Don Miller, K4ENE,  presented Antenna Secrets Part I. He discussed Quad and Beam antennas, the meaning of dBi and dBd, the advantages of Quads, and described his HF Quad antenna.  If you have any questions you can email Don at fnd@mchsi.com.

Minutes – Bill Call motioned to accept the minutes as emailed, Rich Beam seconded. Motion passed.

Treasurer’s Report – Bill Call reported a current balance of $1924.20.  Expenditures were $21 and $14 to W5YI-VEC for two VE sessions.  He has some money to be deposited.  YTD we have processed 20 plus new hams, not all in Calloway County.

Systems Report – Bill Call reported that it is about the same as last month's report. Hamlin repeater is working okay; 94 has some noise on windy days. 440 is working but not as sensitive as it should be. Randall stated that he believes its antenna may be bent.

Staff Advisor Report – Not present; Bill shared some information from John.

VE Report – 2 VE sessions.

QSL Managers Report – No cards to report.

Net Report – No report

Up Coming Events – Balloon launches hoped for weeks of June 7th and June 21st.  They never recovered the balloon from the last balloon launch; it did not carry APRS gear.

The TSM Program has been advised that they will become the issuer of IP addresses for all HAMS for the State of Kentucky .

Calloway County is having an Emergency Response Exercise on June 21st. Jeff Steen is preparing the exercise. If you would like to participate in a non radio capacity, they are looking for people to be "victims" to rescue.

Ham Bits – Recommending a book called Emergency Power for Radio Communications by Michael Bryce, WB8VGE. Check the library for this or Bill Call can order it for you from ARRL.

Old Business – Field Day t-shirts list is in and Bill Call will be placing the order tomorrow (June 2nd). Name and call sign may be put on the front of the shirts as this year's shirts have a design on the back. Valerie Barrett is charging $1 for the transfer of the name/call sign on t-shirts.

Bill Call suggested that a VE Sessions prompt be added to the President’s PowerPoint show.

New Business – Field Day is June 26th - 27th. Possible sites were discussed again. No decision was made; it will go to the committee. The committee will either send an email to everyone and/or will talk about it on the regular Monday Night Net.

Rich Beam motioned to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at about 20:35.

Respectfully submitted,

Nichole Barton, KJ4TKH

Acting Secretary
