Minutes of the August 7, 2007 Meeting  

The meeting was called to order by President, Randall Winchester, WD4HVA at 1900 hours. In attendance were:

Introduction of members followed with everyone stating their favorite type of Pizza and what modes they operate.  

Minutes - The minutes for July 2007 were unanimously approved as published after a motion by Al Grant and seconded by Bill Call.  

Treasurer’s Report – Bill Call reported the current balance as $765.83, no change from last month.  

QSL Manager’s Report – No Report.  

Staff Advisor Report – No formal report. Bill Call is the contact person regarding tower movement and he reported World Tower has been contacted and will be sub contracting the moving of the tower. The subcontractor has done a site visit and will be submitting a bid to World Tower.  

Systems Report – No changes since last meeting.  

Net Report – Matt reported 5 sessions, 44 check-ins, and zero traffic with 75.53 operator hours.  

VE Report – Exam this evening, with Joseph Winchester taking his technician class license exam. Congratulations Joseph on passing the exam for your technician class license (I heard Joseph passed the exam while typing up these minutes, so thought I would let everyone know so they could also congratulate him).  

Ham Bits – k53hx.net/repeaters/qrepeater.php this is a mapping website that you can use to search for repeaters.  

Old Business –  

Field Day Report – Mary Husfield won 1st place with Al Grant taking 2nd place in the local Field Day contest. The Field Day report has been sent in.  

Run Between The Rivers – October 2007 endurance run with multiple starting points. There will be more information at the next meeting.  

New Business –  

Red Cross Disaster Blaster – September 22nd at the Lowe’s parking lot. Anyone who wants to participate in this event should contact either Bill Call or Randall Winchester. No one in attendance was able to commit to this event.  

Dale Barrett reported that the Poplar Springs Baptist Church would soon be a Red Cross Disaster Center.  

Program – Dale Barrett presented a program on Internet Services. The program went over the definitions of Internet terms and there was a demo of the Apache WEB Server. Dale provided handouts of the Apache WEB Server free software on CD.  

There being no further business. Al Grant made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Bill Call, motion passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 2005 hours.
