2005

Jon Billington

After graduating from Murray State in May 1987, Jon was employed by Cap Cities/ABC and spent six years in Dallas, Texas at Word Records and Publishing (a subsidiary of Cap Cities/ABC).  During the six years Jon was wih Word, he was heavily involved with and oversaw the accounting and financial reporting functions for the $100 million record and music publishing company.  In 1993, Jon accepted an audit position with Arthur Andersen LLP, which moved he and his wife to Nashville Tennessee.  Jon was elected to the Andersen partnership in 2001.  In May 2002, Jon joined Ernst & Young as an audit partner.

His professional experience includes his six years as an industry professional as well as 12 years in public accounting serving both public and privately-held companies.  Jon has significant experience serving technology, real estate, hospitality and entertainment companies and currently serves as the Ernst & Young Nashville office's primary partner for those industries.  His experience includes Securities and Exchange Commission filings, initial public offerings, secondary offerings, public and private debt and equity offerings as well as significant mergers and acquisitions experience including due diligence and transaction structuring consultation.  His clients have included Gaylord Entertainment, Britney Spears, HealthStream, Corrections Corporation of America, Dollar General, Asurion Corporation, Flextronics, National Heath Realty, and National Health Investors among others.

Jon and his wife Dena live in Franklin, Tennessee and are the parents of three children, daughters Libby, 10 and Avery, 6 and son Jon Mason, 3.  Jon is very active in his church, coasches Avery's soccer team and volunteers with Nashville's Table.  Jon also serves on the board of the Nashville Capital Network and previously served on the board of Nashville's Table.

2004

Michael Cain

Mr. Cain is a magna cum laude graduate of Murray State University with an area in accounting. He is co-managing partner and one of the founders of Lattimore Black Morgan and Cain, P.C. and affiliates. He has diversified experience in a variety of industries including manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, construction, real estate, services, restaurants and others. He frequently consults on business matters closely held businesses and their owners, and has served as an expert witness for legal counsel with regard to financial issues. His previous experiences include practicing with the Nashville office of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co.

Mr. Cain is also active in many professional and civic organizations. He is a member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs where he serves as president-elect of the Nashville Chapter. He is involved on the AICPA Group of 100, has served as president of ACPA international, an international association of CPA firms, and he was one of the founders of the Leading Edge Alliance, and association of approximately 45 major regional accounting firms across the country. Mr. Cain and his wife, Jane Ann, have two sons, Ryan and Wes, and reside in Brentwood , Tennessee .

 

2003

Tarpley B Jones

Mr. Jones graduated from Murray State in 1980 with a Bachelor Science degree in Business. He joined Arthur Anderson upon graduation and worked there until 1986, when he joined Comdata Networks, Inc. as its Executive Vice President and CFO. Mr. Jones moved to Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA) in 1992 and served as its CFO until 1996, when HealthSouth purchased SCA and Mr. Jones became president of the HealthSouth Surgery Division. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Jones founded Cardiology Partners of America, a physician management company based in Nashville , and served as its President until February of 2000. At that time, he joined PhyCor as its CFO and subsequently became President and Chief Executive Officer of Aveta Health, Inc., (formerly known as PhyCor). Mr. Jones left Aveta in December, 2002 when the majority of the company’s stock was acquired by Care Ventures, a New Jersey-based private equity management fund, and plans were made to close the Nashville operations.

Mr. Jones was born in 1967 in Munich , Germany . He now lives in Nashville and is married to Dr. Linda Keck Jones. They have two children ages 14 and 11.
