|   | SG Carthell Student Affairs years at MSU: 7 previous service on Staff Congress? yes S.G. Carthell is the current director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, director for the Marvin D. Mills Multicultural Center, and has serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications. He is responsible for the development and implementation of programs and activities that are designed to enhance the academic success and retention for multicultural students. S.G. received his bachelor's degree from Ball State University with a focus in criminal justice and criminology. He received his master's degree from Miami University with a focus in Mass Communications. Prior to arriving at Murray State, S.G. served as assistant to the vice president for Student Affairs for Multicultural Enrichment at Miami University. He also serves as co-chair on the President's Commission on Diversity & Inclusion and chair of the City of Murray Human Rights Commission. S.G. has been at Murray State University since the fall of 2004. He is married to Alicia Carthell, who is an instructor in the Department of English, and is the father of seven. |
