The candidate was presented with the following questions. The responses are printed as received and have not been edited by Staff Congress.

1. Why would you like to serve on Staff Congress?
I would appreciate the opportunity to continue serving on Staff Congress representing my fellow staff employees and seeing that their concerns and ideas are given an opportunity to be heard by the administration. Also, to seek possible solutions for problems or issues that they perceive. The Staff Congress also provides me with an opportunity to inform the staff the direction the university is going and what to expect.

2. Please list work experience and community involvement.
My experiences as a Murray State employee involving Staff Congress have included a year as Vice-President and two years as President. I have served on both of the Budget Task force committees in recent years, served on the Provost Search Committee and was a member of the Presidential Search Staff Interview team. Currently I am serving as the chair of the University Faculty and Staff Insurance and Benefits Committee and am a member of the Faculty Staff Leadership Council. My community involvement includes participation in the Town and Gown program through participation in the T&G Community Band.

John is a candidate in the Secretarial/Clerical category.
