1. Why would you like to serve on Staff Congress?
I enjoy serving on Staff Congress. It has given me the opportunity to meet the staff, listen to your concerns and work to make Murray State a better place. Over the years I've had the opportunity to see many great ideas get implemented thanks to the efforts of Staff Congress. I look forward to hearing from you and representing you for another three years. You can reach me at oherndon@murraystate.edu, 270-809-4491 or visit my office, room 111E Wilson Hall. The I & B committee is looking at insurance and benefits for calendar year 2016--I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

2. Please list work experience and community involvement.
I earned a B.S. degree (1986) and M.B.A. (1988) at Murray State. I was hired by Murray State in 1991 to work in the Dept. of Journalism and Mass Communications. My current job title is publications systems manager. I was the internal accountant for The Farm Store Inc., Cadiz, from 1985-1990. As a member of Staff Congress I have served five one-year terms as president, two years as vice president and one and a half terms as treasurer. I've served on each of the Congress' committees in this time. Currently I serve on the personnel policies and benefits committee, the credentials and elections committee and the University's Faculty and Staff Insurance and Benefits Committee. I'm a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Cadiz, serving as Sunday School director and Vacation Bible School director. I serve as Sunday School director for the Little River Baptist Association in Cadiz.

Orville is a candidate in the At-Large category.
