General Meeting Minutes
September 27, 2001

President:
Casey Johnson announced that nationals has been cancelled. Actually, he said, it has been postponed until February timeframe. He said we will be continuing fundraisers for those interested in going. He is trying to put together an induction committee. He stressed that this is an important time of the year, and new membership is crucial. He asked anyone who could help with money collection or anything else at induction to please let him know.

Corresponding Secretary:
Audrey Hamilton was unable to attend due to illness. Casey Johnson spoke on behalf of her.

Viee-President:
Anne Harper (Annie K.) said we will be having a trip to Nashville to see Dracula on October 28 (Sunday) around noon. She said the price for each person will be $12-$18, depending on how many people attend and what group rate we qualify for. Those interested should sign the sign-up sheet at the end of the meeting and she’ll be in touch through e-mail. She hopes to collect all of the ticket money within about two weeks. She also thanked all those who helped with the carwash and the bakesale.

Recording Secretary:
Amanda Gerrish reminded members to e-mail any points you earn through all the projects available to her as well as points for projects outside of GBP that qualify.

Treasurer:
Larissa Cook thanked everyone who came to Gatti’s night and those who came to help at the car wash. She also thanked those who baked goods for the bake sale and those who came and worked at it in Faculty Hall last Friday. She is planning on scheduling another one next month.

She mentioned two important fundraising dates to remember: October 10 is the next Gatti’s night (Members should come between 5 and 9 and bring friends for points and to help earn money for Nationals), October 13th is the bake sale at Homecoming Tent City. If members can bake something, they should drop it off at Lori Dial’s office in Financial Aid in the basement of Sparks or bring it to the table at Tent City. Anyone who can work that day should let Larissa know after the meeting, or e-mail her.

Historian:
Alison Marr announced her scrapbook committee would be meeting Wednesday, October 3 at 5:00 p.m. on the 3rd Floor of the Curris Center in the tree lounge.

Public Relations Officer:
Kent Bohanon will be having a social committee meeting this coming Tuesday at 5 p.m. He announced that “Bowling night” would take place on Wednesday, October 17 from 6:30 to 8p.m. at Corvette Lanes. He also reported that the informational table for inductions would be October 25 and 27 (thurs.-fri.) outside the Curris Center for all new inductees. People can earn points for stopping by to hang out and work for a little while.
