Gamma Beta Phi General Meeting

Minutes for

January 27, 2000

 

President: Wyatt Alverson welcomed everyone back. He is planning for many exciting things this semester including the Pepsi taste test and attending the National convention in New Orleans. He asked for any new ideas for projects this semester. Alverson also mentioned the fact that the bylaws state that each event can not get more than three points, even though there have been some misinterpretations about this issue in the past.

Vice President: Casey Johnson was busy with some other obligations in the first meeting and in the next meeting he welcomed everyone back. He is planning for many projects this semester while he is getting to know more about his new office.

Corresponding Secretary: Sharaf Alkibsi hoped that everyone had a great break. He asked the members for any new ideas for community services to be done this semester. He is planning for different services in order to help members accumulate the number of points required to stay in an active status. The online community service will be fully planned in the coming meeting.

Treasurer: Jennifer Hibbs reminded that the yearly dues are $15.00. Please pay your dues as soon as possible for the year 1999-2000. She is working on the Pepsi fundraiser. She had a committee and she needs a chairperson for that.

Recording Secretary: Doug Cecil has finished updating the points from last semester and he is only missing the Christmas party. He noted that students who did not get the required points last semester that they can achieve them this semester. Remember that you need 15 points if you live in Calloway County, and you need 10 points if you do not. For more details of how to get points check out with the other officers. Anyone has questions about last semesters points, should ask him.

Public Relations: Kent Bohanon conducted a committee meeting and discussed possible social activities this semester. He is very optimistic that our group seems to get along and that we can have fun together.

 Historian: Alyson Holbrook welcomed everyone back. She asked everyone to smile and took several pictures.
