With more than 10,000 members, the Kentucky Fairness Alliance seeks to advance equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people through leadership development, public education and by encouraging participation in the democratic process. The Women’s Center at Murray State University opened its doors in 1992. The Women’s Center is a place for all women and those interested in issues relevant to women. The Center offers a resource library that can prove beneficial when researching women’s issues or when seeking help for self or others. The Center is also a place for a wide variety of individuals to meet, learn, and get involved . We are dedicated to the support, education, and personal growth of all women. Their purpose is to assist women in facing the new challenges, opportunities, and demands which are encountered in today’s ever changing society. They welcome students, faculty, and staff who are interested in issues relevant to women. We encourage you to make use of their services and if you have any ideas or suggestions please share them . Their doors are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. They are located on the second floor of Ordway Hall, Suite 201, next to the Waterfield Library.


The Human Rights Campaign is America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. HRC seeks to improve the lives of GLBT Americans by advocating for equal rights and benefits in the workplace, ensuring families are treated equally under the law and increasing public support among all Americans through innovative advocacy, education and outreach programs. HRC works to secure equal rights for GLBT individuals and families at the federal and state levels by lobbying elected officials, mobilizing grassroots supporters, educating Americans, investing strategically to elect fair-minded officials and partnering with other GLBT organizations.
