The Center for Teaching, Learning & Technology in conjunction with the office of the Provost, is pleased to coordinate a new faculty development program. The New Faculty Cohort/Colleague program (NFCC) provides a year long series of activities and events to assist new faculty as they settle into the MSU community.
What? Components of the NFCC Program include:
- Monthly lunch meetings or pizza sessions
- Web-based Forum for exchanging ideas, asking questions
- Discussion list for immediate communication with all participants
- Student interns available for assisting with faculty technology needs
- E-Mentors, consisting of previous year's cohort plus senior faculty participate in program
- Emphasis on using the technology - not hearing about it.
Why? To support our new faculty in developing:
- Knowledge of university systems and procedures
- Knowledge of instructional technology opportunities at Murray State
- Ability to model use of technology in the classroom and experience in using instructional technology tools
- A sense of connection to colleagues and to the university
