The Charge From the President
Dear Campus Community,
An exciting and necessary change is facing Murray State that will dramatically improve the way the University serves its students, faculty, staff, the region, the Commonwealth and beyond. That change is the implementation of our new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
I am proud that MSU is partnering with SunGard Higher Education in this venture. SunGard is a global leader in providing strategic consulting and technology management services to help institutions improve performance. As a result of this collaboration, Murray State will evolve into a new way of doing business in a comprehensive online atmosphere, while consciously escalating the exceptional level of service our constituents have come to expect.
A long implementation period is ahead for everyone on campus, and I personally thank all of those individuals at the University who are dedicating their time, talents and effort to make the project a success. The implementation of an ERP is integral to the success of Murray State University going forward and it can only happen when we all work together toward the same goal.
The Core Implementation Team will ask individual departments to assess current business practices and the need for historical data to assist with prioritization of the many modules in the new system. As part of this evaluation process I encourage you to examine the practices of your individual work station, office, and department to identify methods to streamline and improve the processes and services we provide.
This is an exciting time for us and I look forward to our entire campus community participating in and embracing this opportunity.
Sincerely,
Dr. Randy J. Dunn
President
