MSU Webmail User Guide

If you are needing information that does not appear on our site, you can download the ModusMail User Guide (PDF file) at http://campus.murraystate.edu/mailhelp/MWebMail42.pdf.
NOTE: The PDF file requires Acrobat Reader and is 4.1MB.

CAUTION!

On the Settings > Options page in Webmail, there are optional fields for forwarding your mail to a different email address. If the checkbox circled below is selected (a checkmark appears in the box) and there is no forwarding address in the "Forward mail to" textbox, all incoming messages will not be delivered. Any incoming messages sent to you while this box is selected cannot be retrieved.

Leave the Forwarding Email checkbox blank if you have not specified an email address to forward messages to.

If you do not want to forward your messages to another account MAKE SURE that the checkbox is not selected.

Anti-Spam Filtering

You can manage potential spam messages through your personal settings. The settings are managed through Webmail; however, they affect the messages and reports that are sent to your primary email client and address. For more information, visit Changing Your Anti-Spam Settings.

Quarantined Messages

Messages that may be harmful or spam may be filed in the Quarantine section of Webmail. You can adjust your Quarantine and Reports settings so that an email message (report) periodically lists the messages that are in your Quarantine folder. These reports are sent to remind you to check the Quarantine folder in case legitimate messages have been filtered.

For information about setting the frequency with which the reports are sent to you, visit Changing Your Quarantined Messages Report.

For information about checking or releasing your quarantined messages, visit Changing Your Quarantine Settings.

For information about forbidden (blocked) file attachments, visit Forbidden File Extensions.

Vacation (Auto-Reply) Message

Within Webmail, you can create an automatic-reply message that will be returned to anyone who sends you an email. For instructions on enabling and disabling this feature, visit Creating a "Vacation" Auto-reply Message.
