Introduction

As you will see, several links on this page get you to sections of the application form you will have to fill out for submission to the University Studies committee. By way of introduction to those links, here are some brief descriptions of what they contain:

  • Technology-Intensive Guidelines: Lists specific guidelines for a technology-intensive course.
  • Contact Information: Asks for the name, department, phone number and murraystate.edu email address of the person the committee should contact to answer questions or provide additional information.
  • Course Information: This asks for the Course Prefix, Course Number, Course Title, and the number of credit hours awarded.
  • Catalog Course Description: The description of the course as it appears in the University Bulletin.
  • Course Objectives: As stated on the syllabus for the course.
  • Course Syllabus: As approved by Academic Council. You can copy and paste your syllabus from Word into the textbox.
  • Mission Statement: Provides an overview of the new University Studies program that should be read before proceeding to address Prompts 1 – 5.
  • Prompt 1: Asks the question: Why are the technological knowledge and skills of this course important for MSU students within the discipline? We ask that you limit your answer to 150 words.
  • Prompt 2: Asks you to: Describe the technologies that will be used.
  • Prompt 3: Asks you to: List specific technology-based activities and projects that will engage and challenge students and promote learning and skill development. The word limit for this section is 250 words.
  • Prompt 4: Asks you to: Describe how the impact of the technologies on student learning will be assessed.
  • Prompt 5: Asks the question: How does this course facilitate the development of the Characteristics 3 and 4 of the MSU Graduate? We ask that you limit your answer to 150 words.
