Although over 1000 new viruses come out on a daily basis there are ways you can prevent from getting them all together. Having a virus scan on a machine and keeping it up to date is crucial in the upkeep of a computer. Like when dealing with cars preventive maintenance helps in time and cost.

Some commonly used virus scans are AVG, Norton, and Mcafee. Even though we only support Mcafee the other two virus scans work as well.

Stinger is a stand-alone utility used to detect and remove specific viruses. It is not a substitute for full anti-virus protection, but rather a tool to assist administrators and users when dealing with an infected system.
