How to Find your Internet Explorer's Version:

How to set your Homepage in Internet Explorer

To set the Internet Explorer home page, you will need to access Internet Options. The easiest method of accessing Internet Options is within an Internet Explorer window. Open an Internet Explorer window if you do not currently have one open.

On the top toolbar, click 'Tools' and then 'Internet Options'. The Internet Options box should open, by default, to the General tab. Enter your preferred home page URL (i.e. http://www.yahoo.com) in the text box within the 'Home page' section of this tab. If the page you are currently viewing is your desired home page, click the 'Use Current' button.

What are Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, and History:

Temporary Internet Files are files that are stored locally on your computer to allow you to quickly view previously visited sites.

A cookie is a piece of text that a Web server can store on a user's hard disk. Cookies allow a Web site to store information on a user's machine and later retrieve it.

The History folder on your machine, contains links to pages you've visited, for quick access to recently viewed pages.

Deleting Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, and History:

Deleting your TIF is an efficient way to keep your machine running smoothly.

It is crucial to delete your cookies often because it allows hackers/spy ware to gather information (i.e. passwords, account numbers, etc.) from your machine.

Although deleting the History Folder doesn't affect the overall performance of your machine, you may decide to delete your History folder.
