Welcome to RacerNet

Students:

Log in and look at your courses. Once faculty have made courses available to students, you should see them under Courses in the left-side menu.  If you have several courses, or to see all of your courses, click on All Courses link.  You can also customize the Courses menu.  Click here for instructions.  Your Canvas course list should match your myGate schedule, but not all courses in Canvas will be made available to you because not all faculty use Canvas to deliver course materials.

Where do I go if I need help with Canvas?

    • If you have questions about your course content, contact your instructor.
    • To report errors, please click on the Help button in the left-side menu and choose to Report a Problem.
    • For additional assistance, use the Service Catalog, call the Service Desk at 270-809-2346, or email msu.canvas@murraystate.edu.
    • You may also use the search on the right side of this page. This will search all of the Canvas guides and list the top 20 results.

What if I don't know how to use Canvas?  Here are some options: visit our Canvas Student Orientation course, search through the Canvas Student Guide, search the MSU Service Catalog, or contact the Service Desk, by phone at 270-809-2346 or email to msu.canvas@murraystate.edu.

How do I know if I have the right computer requirements?

    • Click here for links to recommended and supported browsers, plugins, and requirements for Canvas and other related software/systems.
    • We recommend all users have access to at least two browsers.
    • Clearing browser cache and/or restarting your computer can often fix browser issues.  Click here for instructions.

Faculty:

Log in and look at your courses.

Courses are created in Canvas automatically each semester once the Provost's office releases the schedules and CRNs - no request needed.  Students are typically added to the course two weeks before the first day of classes.  You must "Publish" the course before students will have access to the course content.

What if I want to combine multiple course sections into one course or cross-list my courses?

Fill out the "Cross-list (Combine" Courses on Canvas" service request to let Sheri know which sections you want combined. This must be done before any student work has been done in the course(s).
