3. I have a
student who cannot get into my course! What do I need to do to get them
in?
All students
scheduled for your course are automatically enrolled. Students who cannot
access your course should check the PIN system to ensure that they are
enrolled in the correct course and section.
4. I have something
in one course that I'd like to copy into all of my courses. Can I do that?
Yes! Instructors
have the responsibility to copy course materials into an existing course.
- Go to the Control Panel of the source course (the course containing
the desired content).
- Select "Course Copy."
- Select "Copy Course Into An Existing Course."
- Browse to select the Destination Course.
- Select the information you want copied.
- Click "Submit."
- Wait for the confirmation email and then check the Destination Course
for content.
5. I want to
get started teaching with Blackboard. What do I need to do to get started?
All instructors
are required to attend a Basic Certification Workshop before teaching
a Blackboard course. For training options, visit our Blackboard
Training page. Attend one of our workshops, fill out the Course
Request Form , and we will create your course shell.
6. Do I still
need to give CTLT (e.study) the last four digits of my student's social
security number in order to get them enrolled manually?
No. Students
in academic courses cannot be manually enrolled. This process happens
automatically. Instructors with non-academic courses that require student
enrollment should send a list including first names, last names, and MSU
email addresses to e.study@murraystate.edu.
7. I want to
add a TA or grader to my class. How do I do that?
Email e.study@murraystate.edu
with:
- The TA or grader's first name, last name, and current MSU email
address
- The role that the user needs to be assigned (list the priveleges that
they should have)
- The Course ID
8. I received a current roster

They are still listed in my Blackboard class, though. When will they be
removed from Blackboard?
They should be
removed from Blackboard within 24 hours of dropping.
9. I would
like to be able to log in and see the class as a student would see it.
Is there a way I can do that?
Yes! You can
send an email to e.study@murraystate.edu
requesting a "fake student" to be enrolled into your course.
Just email e.study@murraystate.edu
and request that we enroll a fake student into your course. The naming
convention will be s_firstname.lastname, for example s_john.doe.
10. How do
I request a course?
Faculty and staff
members can request Blackboard courses. Fill-out the Course
Request Form online for each course needed. Courses will be created
within 24-48 hours.
11. How do
I Export/Import my course content for future use or to share it with another
instructor?
Please follow
these instructions.
12. My students
can't see my course or it says "unavailable" on my course list.
If your course
is unavailable to your students, you can make it available by going to
the Control Panel for that course. Click on the Settings link in the Course
Options area. Next, click on the Course Availablility link. If your course
is marked No, change it to Yes and click Submit.
13. What do
I need to know before giving an exam on Blackboard?
