For Faculty Use - How to Export Your Gradebook from Blackboard
You can save (export) the gradebook as an Excel
spreadsheet from your Blackboard course. You can then
use Excel to edit grades and perform calculations. To export your gradebook to an Excel spreadsheet, perform the following steps:
-
Go to the Control Panel in your online course.
-
Click on the "Gradebook" link under the Assessment section.
- Click on the "Download Grades" button.
- Select a delimiter type (comma or tab).
NOTE: The tab delimiter appears
to keep the data in columns better than the comma delimiter when you are using
Excel.
- Click on the Submit button.
- The message displayed below will appear.
Click on the Download button to save the gb_export.csv file to your computer.
NOTE: Alternatively, you could right-click on the Download button, then select "Save Target As" in Internet Explorer to save the gb_export.csv file to your computer.
Special NOTE for Firefox Users: Firefox users should right-click on the Download button and select "Save Link As". Left-clicking on the Download button may result in an on-screen display of data that is not organized in a spreadsheet.
- You will be asked if you would like to open or save the file. Click on the "Save" button.
NOTE: If you click on the Open button, the
spreadsheet may appear inside the web browser frame of Blackboard. Any changes
that you make in the web browser will not be saved.
- Select a folder on your computer where you would like to save the file.
- Once the file download is completed, click on the Close button.
- Open the file from the location where you saved it.
