For Faculty Use - Downloading Assignments in Blackboard

You can download all of your students' papers that have been turned in using the Assignment feature in Blackboard. By using the Assignments feature, you can download all of the papers that have been submitted for the assignment in one process...saving time and the confusion of the digital drop box.

  1. Go to the Control Panel in your Blackboard course.
  2. Click on the Gradebook link under the Assessment section.
  3. Locate the Assignment entry in the Gradebook.
  4. Click on the link of the Assignment's name.

  5. Click on the Item Download link.
  6. To select all of the assignment files, click on the Check All link.
    Alternatively, you could select individual checkboxes beside the student's name to download an assignment.
  7. Click on the Submit button at the bottom of the page.
    A new screen will appear.
  8. Click on the Download assignments now link.
    Alternatively, you could right-click on the "Download assignments now" link and select "Save Target As" or "Save Link As" to save the zip file to your computer. A "Save As" box will appear, prompting you to select where you would like to save the file on your computer.
  9. A window will appear, asking if you want to open or save the file.
  10. Click on the Save button.

  11. The assignment files submitted by the students will be collected in a zip file.
  12. Select where you would like to save the zip file on your computer.
  13. Click on the Save button.
  14. Click on the Close button to close the "Download complete" window.
  15. Click on the OK button in Blackboard now that you have the assignment files downloaded.
  16. When you open your saved zip file, you will find the students' files and messages sent to you for that particular assignment.
