Assistance with housing arrangments can be provided through the office. Most all of the sites in our region are with host families, who have been taking care of students since the existence of AHEC. Host families go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcomed in to their homes.

Arrangements vary from spare bedrooms in the homes of "empty nesters", to an entire floor with a private entrance. You'll have access to kitchen, utility room, and all linens are provided - they'll do everything possible to make you feel at home in their home.

Once your clinical placement is confirmed, it will be time to complete an
AHEC Fact Sheet
- please note on it if you will need assistance in making housing arrangments, including any special needs you may have. We will contact
a host family to make preliminary arrangements, and then turn the remaining details over to you.

Housing stipens for our area come through the U of L AHEC office and will be deposited in to your U of L student account. Housing hosts must be paid for the entirity of your stay when you arrive.

For more infomation regarding housing policies, refer to the U of L Housing and Stipend Policy.
