Current Version of Coeus® Premium in use at MSU is 4.2.5
Coeus® is a $15+ MM complete grant proposal development, submission and management system developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the 1990's. Murray State University, a member of the Coeus® Consortium, will use the system to allow MSU faculty, administrators and professional staff to develop grant proposals at their desktop and submit for automatic electronic routing and signature. Coeus® also allows for System-to-System (S2S) downloading of federal grant applications and transmission of grant proposals to the appropriate federal agency through the government's Grants.gov portal.
For security, Coeus® is available only on the MSU network. Send an email to coeus@murraystate.edu and the OSP will send you the login information for both the development and production instances. If you wish to work in Coeus® from off campus, please use the VPN Client available from Information Systems and the Windows XP Remote Desktop.
To run Coeus® you'll need to download a file called the Java Runtime Environment Version 1.4.2_17 (JRE). The OSP has this file ready for download. To download this file, click here: Download J2SE JRE and select Run. The JRE will download to your hard drive and you'll select Run again. As the JRE begins to install, you'll need to accept the terms in the license agreement by clicking the radio button then click Next. Select a Typical install, then click Next. The JRE will begin installing which may take a few minutes. After the JRE installs, click Finish. You will need to reboot your computer for the changes to take effect. Now, you can use the Coeus web address to connect to Coeus Development or Production. NOTE: If your pc will not let you install the JRE, you may not have Administrator rights on your computer. If this happens, please contact the Help Desk at 2346 for assistance.
