Overview.
The Humanities Program at Murray State University comprises two courses required under the University Studies curriculum. Humanities 211 is a survey of significant works of Western literature and philosophy from Homer through Voltaire, with an emphasis on intellectual continuity. Humanities 212 treats literature and philosophy written from 1789 to the present, with an emphasis on understanding and appreciating the diversity of human thought and experience.
