DESCRIPTION:

An important purpose of the course is to familiarize the student with the faculty of the department, the facilities and activities of the department, and the other parts of the university which will be of particular interest to the student. 

 

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. In class projects
  2. Take home projects

Those enrolled in the course should access the MSU Blackboard site frequently

 

TOPICS:

The course will also include the introduction of engineering design activities.  These activities are intended to:  promote creative problem-solving skills; develop the student’s ability to design and optimize a system or process while working under realistic constraints; and allow students to work collaboratively in groups.

Guest speakers will be invited to share their expertise in various fields, giving an appreciation for the nature and scope of potential careers in engineering and physics.
