Instructional Movies

Introductory Chemistry II (CHE 106)

--under construction--

Instructional Movies:

Finding the Longest Continuous Chain in Alkanes

Naming Alkanes

Determining the Molecular Formula of Cyclic Structures

Hydrogen Bonding in Organic Molecules

Note:  The reports are Windows Media Files (.wmv) and will require Windows Media Player to view.

Background:

These instructional movies are available to help students learn some of the most important topics in CHE 106.

Logistics:

The movies were made in PowerPoint and the software program Camtasia Studio was used used to capture audio and screen activities (screencast).  A tablet PC was used to create these screencasts and allowed the instructor to easily add molecular structures to the movies.
