The following international news sites (online newspapers, news agencies, broadcast media) have been selected using a variety of considerations.  Some are reliable and independent; many are less so.  Most are newspapers, but others are news agencies or websites for the electronic mass media.  Most have a distinct perspective or give a sense of the ideology driving the selection and presentation of what is news in the view of those in power -- a distinctness that is evident in comparing the reporting on the different sites.  All of the sites are either dailies or are tied to the news cycle.  All of the sites are in English.  I have organized most of them geographically, but some are organized according to the type of news they disseminate.  At the bottom of the page are links to translation tools for translating any other news sites not in English.

Please consider reading news on several of these sites.  Although the media tends to be conservative, due to its marketarian character and desire for profit, not all media outlets are conservative, and it is possible to glean a wide variety of information and make informed judgments about that information.
